About LiteMark Removable Vinyl
These decals are made from premium matte-finish calendered vinyl with a water-based, low-tack adhesive. They apply cleanly to smooth floors, walls, and painted surfaces, and remove without leaving adhesive residue — making them ideal for events, seasonal displays, school programs, and any application where clean removal matters. Apply at 60°F or above on clean, dry surfaces. Not recommended for long-term outdoor exposure.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is LiteMark Removable Vinyl made from?
LiteMark Removable squares are cut from ORACAL® 631 Exhibition Cal, a 3-mil (80 micron) soft-PVC vinyl with a matte finish and a clear, water-based removable polyacrylate adhesive. It's the industry go-to for removable craft and marking vinyl, chosen specifically because it comes off cleanly — no residue, no paint damage.
How long will the vinyl squares last?
Outdoor durability is up to 3 years under vertical exposure, and indoor life is effectively indefinite. Oracal 631 is rated for medium-term applications, so it's built to last through the life of a training program, event, or seasonal layout but designed to peel away cleanly when you're done.
Are they truly removable? Will they leave residue or damage my floor?
Yes — they remove residue-free from most smooth, sealed surfaces within the 3-year service window. The specially formulated water-based adhesive is engineered for clean removal from sealed concrete, VCT, epoxy floors, painted drywall, and other non-porous surfaces. Lift a corner and pull back at a low angle (about 30 degrees). For squares that have been down for a long time, gently warming with a hair dryer helps the adhesive release cleanly.
What surfaces can I apply LiteMark squares to?
LiteMark squares work best on flat and simple-curve surfaces that are smooth, sealed, and non-porous. Ideal surfaces include sealed concrete, VCT and vinyl tile, epoxy-coated floors, painted drywall, laminate, glass, sealed wood, metal, and most polished plastics. Avoid raw concrete, unsealed wood, brick, textured rubber, or heavily embossed surfaces — the adhesive needs a smooth interface to seal properly.
Where should I use LiteMark squares?
LiteMark squares are ideal for warehouse tote and pallet outlining, 5S workstation footprints, classroom seating and workstation zones, retail display footprints, hopscotch and sensory path steps, event floor plans, standing-spot markers, and any temporary or seasonal zone marking. Because the vinyl removes cleanly, they're perfect wherever the layout may change — leased spaces, seasonal displays, or training rotations.
Do the squares come off in cold or hot temperatures?
Once applied, the vinyl handles temperatures from -40°F to +176°F without variation. Apply the squares when the surface is at least 50°F with humidity above 50% for best adhesion — if your space is colder than that, warm the floor with a hair dryer or heater before installing.
Are LiteMark squares waterproof? Can I mop over them?
Yes — Oracal 631 is fully water resistant and passes 48-hour water immersion tests with no variation. You can sweep, mop, and even use a floor scrubber over installed squares. Avoid harsh solvents or aggressive chemical strippers, which can attack any vinyl adhesive.
Are they safe for kids, schools, and sensory paths?
Yes — Oracal 631 carries an ASTM E 84-07 Class "A" fire rating (self-extinguishing on steel) and is the same vinyl used in classroom sensory paths across the country. There are no exposed adhesives or sharp edges, and the matte finish reduces glare that can distract children on the spectrum. The squares are non-toxic once applied and cured.
Are the colors real Oracal 631 pigments?
Yes — every LiteMark Removable Squares is cut from a genuine Oracal 631 color. Available colors typically include White (010), Yellow (022), Golden Yellow (020), Orange (034), Red (031), Pink (045), Purple (040), Baby Blue (056), Blue (057), Green (061), Yellow Green (064), Grey (072), and Black (070). Check the color selector above for this product's specific color options.
Are LiteMark Removable Squares made in the USA?
Yes — every LiteMark square is cut, packed, and shipped from our Turner, Oregon facility using genuine Oracal 631 vinyl. Custom colors, custom sizes, and bulk quantities beyond what's listed are available — contact us for a quote.
Can I get custom sizes, shapes, or colors?
Yes — if you need a size, quantity, or color combination not listed here, we cut custom orders in-house. We also offer dots, arrows, triangles, squares, and other shapes in the same Oracal 631 vinyl. Reach out through iFloortape.com for a custom quote.
What's the shelf life if I don't use them right away?
Sealed in their original packaging at room temperature (68°F / 50% relative humidity), the raw vinyl has a 2-year shelf life per Oracal's technical data sheet. Store the squares flat, out of direct sunlight, and away from heat sources.
How is this different from cheaper Amazon squares?
Most low-cost floor squares are cut from generic PVC with permanent or aggressive adhesives that leave residue or lift paint on removal. LiteMark squares are cut from genuine Oracal 631 — a manufacturer-branded material with a verifiable 3-year outdoor rating, clean-removal adhesive chemistry, and consistent lot-to-lot color. When you're marking a training area, retail store, or classroom, the ability to remove without damage matters more than the sticker price.
