Product Description
The stair-nose and channel-fill choice
SafetyMark Thick Coarse Resilient (TCR) is 0.078" thick — 56% thicker than standard Coarse Resilient — purpose-built to fit recessed stair-nose channels, threshold plates, and any surface prep that leaves a shallow recess. Same non-abrasive no-grit-shed surface as MK2 and MK3, same slip certifications, but with the material body to fill a channel rather than sit on top of it.
When to specify TCR
Standard 0.05" Coarse Resilient can sit too low inside a manufactured stair-nose channel or a routed threshold recess. TCR's 0.078" body fills those recesses cleanly, gives a flush walking surface, and eliminates the lip that a thinner tape would create. If you're spec'ing a new stair-nose profile or retrofitting an existing recess, TCR is the right choice. On a flat surface, TCR's extra thickness creates a small step-up — use MK2 or MK3 there instead.
Family comparison
- MK2 — softer rubber-like feel; barefoot and pet friendly (SKU CR2N, P759).
- MK3 — firmer film with sharper embossed pattern for wet, dirty, or icy environments.
- Thick CR (TCR) — 0.078" thick for recessed stair-nose channels.
- Lean CR — 0.028" thin and flexible for cleanrooms, kitchens, and curved surfaces.
All four share 95 TRL dry / 60 TRL wet slip rating, R10, NFSI High-Traction certification, waterproof after cure, and a non-abrasive skin-friendly finish.

Frequently asked questions
Q: Why is TCR thicker?
A: TCR is designed to sit inside manufactured recesses — stair-nose channels, threshold plates, and routed floor channels. At 0.078" it fills those recesses flush; standard 0.05" tape would sit below the surrounding surface and create a lip.
Q: Can I use TCR on a flat surface?
A: You can, but its extra thickness creates a small step-up that customers may catch a toe on. For flat surfaces, MK2 (softer feel) or MK3 (sharper traction) at 0.05" are the better choices.
Q: Is TCR's slip rating different from MK2/MK3?
A: No — all three are rated 95 TRL dry / 60 TRL wet, R10, and NFSI High-Traction. TCR differs only in thickness and application role.
Q: Where does this tape ship from and how fast?
A: Ships within 24 hours from our USA warehouse.
Q: Is it pet friendly?
A: Yes — the non-abrasive surface is safe for pets to walk on regularly.
